Scenes from Horror Hound, Day 2

I met Barbara Steele today! Barbara Fucking STEELE! SQUEEEEEEEEE!

Ahem.

I had her sign my laserdisc of Fellini's 8-1/2. She had never seen one before. I think she was pleased.

Super icon! Was she nice?

Hi, Kate! Yes! Fabulous fancy hats were the order of the weekend!

Toxaemia and Mykal: she was so nice. I've heard stories about her being unruly at events, but she was completely awesome when I was there.

Jenn: She was very taken with the photography on the laserdisc sleeve. She examined the whole thing very carefully, before signing it in silver ink that matched the design. She had a selection of color pens and was signing most of her stuff in red, but this called for silver.

Too awesome! She was the only attraction for me to this year's con. Wish I could have made the trip!

Hi, Streebo! I think that you would have had a blast regardless of who was there. The attendees were awesome. Barbara Steele was the thing that tipped me to going from my usual waffling on conventions, but I also went to meet people I only know from the net. On that score, the whole trip was a-MAY-zing.

Bob: Steele is 70 years old! She's entitled to be unruly.

I will bask in your jealousy.

Excellent! I saw her there too, but I was too scared of her to go near. I wish I did now.

Well done!

KW: she was very approachable and her table was surprisingly free of gawkers (I think the queue for Sid Haig being next door hurt her, which is shameful). You should have gone up to her. It's not every day you can hobnob with someone who made movies with Bava, Karloff, Price, Cushing, and Lee.
