Some Housekeeping Matters

My blog traffic has been way up this month, thanks in part to the Naschy blogathon and to residual traffic from the October Challenge. Welcome to all the new visitors and followers. I'm happy to have you.

Unfortunately, the spike in traffic has been accompanied by a bunch of spam comments, so for the time being, I'm moderating my comments. I hate doing this, but I'm getting annoyed by the spammers. And so it goes.

I've been blogging here (more or less) for the last five years, but it's only been in the last few months that I've hit my stride. This has been a great year for me, and hopefully, next year will be even better.

Congrats on the hits and followers! Well deserved, and if the PNB had anything to do with that, I consider it a public service for the readers it sent your way.

WRT comments, I've resisted moderation mainly b/c I'm often away from the blog for large chunks of the day, and don't want to stifle discussion; the captchas have helped with that. However, I think some of the spam companies may be employing humans to spam for them now, or else the technology is improving--I've noticed several comments that seem to be lines cut and pasted from the review itself, then posted with the spam link in the blogger name. If it's a human being behind it, I think we've found a job on the level of Unsolicited Telemarketing Salesperson for annoyance/unenviability. :P

I've mainly been getting those kinds of spam comments, too. And, man, those jobs, if they exist, must suck.
