It's one of those that I can always watch, whenever I happen to flip past it on the tube. I can't understand the criticism of it, too sprawling, too disjointed, too TOO. But it's New York in massive embrace, not Woody Allen's genteel Upper West Side love of New York, but a huge hug around the grit and filth and history and mythology and craziness and constant movement.
