I didn't realize I was the target for being LAMB mobbed, but I'm happy to see the traffic!

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person in the world who was pissed at Disney's anti-girl marketing, and I almost skipped it, too. If it had only played in 3D, I probably would have skipped it.

With apologies to William Goldman: Nobody in Hollywood knows anything. I mean, it wasn't teenage boys who bought all those tickets to see Titanic. Girls have a LOT of buying power, if you give them something they want and don't insult them. I think Disney's waffling on this movie cost them a LOT of money.

Anyway, thanks again for stopping by.Vulnavia Morbiushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04722740955194993451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18814440.post-8292629162067380922011-02-08T09:07:53.757-08:002011-02-08T09:07:53.757-08:00Oh and YBLM! The film is enjoyable and very pretty (I loved the Fragonard inspiration), but ultimately standard fare and the music is remarkably generic (every song just called to mind a similar, better song from an earlier Disney movie).

I almost didn't see it because I was so pissed at Disney's anti-girl advertising scheme, but positive feedback from friends convinced me. I hope they change their minds about future girl-centric films, which are all on hold or canceled. I think if Pixar's first film with a female lead (which also had a name change to "Brave" I believe) does well, it could shift things. Who knows, though.Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13471664551639091150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18814440.post-31376577903466676802011-02-07T07:37:44.596-08:002011-02-07T07:37:44.596-08:00And, not for nothing, if dreamworks Disney serves ...And, not for nothing, if dreamworks Disney serves up another pint-sized "fiesty" princess; or anotehr stupid male lead that spends the cartoon being brought up short by fiesty princess "tude;" I'm barfing on my shoes right there in the theater.Mykal Bantahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12148489896145024134noreply@blogger.com
