I haven't written about Zero Dark Thirty yet (not for lack of trying, btw), but one of the things that stood out to me about that movie was how ridiculous Jessica Chastain seemed whenever she said the word "fuck." Oddly enough, I would have had an easier time with her saying "fuck" in Mama. It's that pre-Raphaelite red hair of hers. Not necessarily her fault. <br /><br />I don't know who I would drop. I haven't seen Amour yet, so I probably shouldn't have an opinion. I was so taken with this film...Great write-up, CB. I was so taken with this film on so many levels. Like THE IMPOSSIBLE, there's so much movie magic going on, yet it is *completely* in service of the story and these are truly films that could not have been realized in the same way two decades ago. <br /><br />The fact that Cotillard is absent from the Best Actress nominees just points to how strong the field is this year.
